“ I give this 5 stars because the entire experience was wonderful! We were seated and asked what meat we'd like to have and our drinks We ordered the beef and the chicken. It was all delicious and big portions! Our server had several tables but she kept our drinks full, was friendly and let us know the status of our food. The hotel and restaurant were very clean and beautiful. You can tell the food was homemade and quality made. And the ice cream was a special added touch. ”
“ Loved it! My family and I went there for x mas dinner. It was beautifully decorated, all of the food was delicious, excellent service checked on us often but not to often and always with a smile. Lots to look at neat nice gifts to buy. Rooms upstairs were also very interesting and pleasant to look at. Only thing missing on that day was the x mas tree. Thank u for such a calm, relaxing , pleasant yet not boring time. ”
“ We drove 90 minutes to eat at the Brookville Hotel in Abilene, and it was well worth the drive. The family style chicken dinner was exceptional. The chicken was delicious, and the sides of mashed potatoes, cream corn, slaw, and bread were tasty. The staff was attentive and helpful. It was a nice atmosphere to have a great Easter dinner without having to cook. My family had a wonderful meal, and we plan to return to try their steaks. ”
“ Just as good as advertised. The fried chicken dinner was plentiful, crispy and juicy. The biscuits tasty. Dinner included corn, Cole slaw and mashed potatoes with gravy. More than half had to be packed up to bring home. So delicious!! ”
“ It’s a very classic and retrograde from a 1930s type of feel. Feel was very good, lunch. Had the French dip, so good and homemade blueberry pie, served cold, would rather it was warm but still delicious. ”
“ NOTE the former Brookville Hotel is now called Legacy Kansas. And, as of 12/1/22, you have to have reservations. Overall a great first experience. Restaurant is being remodeled, but looks nice so far. Very traditional decor. The relish stuff was amazing-cottage cheese, peaches, pickles, cinnamon apples, cole slaw. Amazing. And the fried chicken and mashed potatoes (real, not instant) and gravy were great. The minute steak was also very good with a wonderful sauce. Service was quick and friendly. ”
“ Arrived here 2 minutes after they stopped serving. We didn’t know their hours. Started to leave as we understood we were there too late, but they asked us to stay, got us food and were super nice and accommodating. Food was wonderful. Im so sorry we were there late and put you guys out when I realize now you were cleaning up and getting ready for the dinner crown that evening. We will be back and will make sure we are there much earlier. Wonderful place to eat, friendly staff, amazing fried chicken. Thanks again! ”
